Since joining Crowe MacKay LLP in 1998, Blaine has been involved in all areas of public practice, providing assurance, accounting, and tax services to a wide range of clients. In recent years his focus has narrowed to primarily privately held businesses and professionals, non-profit organizations, and First Nations enterprises. For the past several years, Blaine has also been performing the Chief Financial Officer duties for a Government Crown Corporation.

- Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina in 1987
- He obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2002
- subsequently completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) In-Depth Tax program.
